Visa application has to be submitted to the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus and contains the following:
1. Passport in original (not a copy) with one blank page at least. Term of validity of the document has to exceed the term of the requested visa for at least 90 days;
2. Duly completed visa application form (specifying the name and the address of the inviting person/institution (organisation) in Belarus) with one recent passport sized photograph, fixed to the marked place at the upper right-hand corner of the application form. The form must be filled in completely, no blank spaces should be left. If a question does not apply, please type "N/A". Incomplete forms will be returned to the applicants UNPROCESSED. The form should bear the original signature of applicant and must be well readable. Please, fill in the form in block letters.
3. Visa Support Documents (details are given below).
4. Additional documents, necessary to consider visa application (upon request of the Consul).
In the following circumstances the documents in question should be submitted without any reminders:
- If you formerly had USSR or Belarusian citizenship – documents, proving the loss of USSR/Belarusian citizenship;
- If applicant is a child under 18 years of age, – a copy of child's birth certificate and copies of parents’ passport main information pages (with passport number, expiration date, photo etc.).
5. An interview (upon request of the Consul);
6. Receipt of payment: Visa fee depends on the type of visa requested, visa support documents (if required), term of visa procedure requested, period of visa validation requested and the nationality of applicant. The rates of visa fees in force could be found here. Please note that starting from January 1, 2010, the rates of visa fees have changed.
Visa fees should be paid in advance only in local currency to the Embassy's account with the Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken No. 5277 - 10 097 49, IBAN-kontonummer SEK: SE1350000000052771009749, Bic-kod (SWIFT): ESSESESS and a receipt of payment should be present together with other documents to the Embassy’ address. For express visa, please, make express transfer. As the consular fees are introduced in EURO, the payment in local currency should correspond the official currency exchange rate established by the Swedish Bank (Sveriges Riksbank) as of 18.00 on the working day prior to the date of payment. The sum to be paid is defined in whole numbers, the last digit should be rounded up to 0 or 5. (e.g. if the fee according to exchange rate is 621 SEK, then the amount to be paid equals 625 SEK; if the fee is 627, the amount to be paid is 630).
Please, specify the name of the applicant in payment details. Cash and cheques are not accepted!
NOTE: Applicants for visas are liable for the fullness of consular fee receipt by the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus. Therefore it is highly recommended for persons, applying for a visa from outside of Sweden, to pay additionally SEK60,00 to the cost of the visa to cover transaction fees charged by the Swedish bank for payments from abroad. In case of SEPA transaction’ execution only SEK10.00 additionally are required.
7. Envelope: Applying by mail, applicants are responsible for the safety of the documents, presented to the Embassy to comply with visa request and their return delivery. In these circumstances pre-paid C5 sized envelope with a return address and stamps or international coupons (2 coupons – for normal mail, 10 coupons – for recommended mail) should be included. If there is any need of a next day delivery the relevant envelopes of Special Delivery should be provided.
● MEDICAL INSURANCE: Effective October 1, 2000 medical insurance is required for all foreign citizens traveling to the Republic of Belarus. The medical insurance contract can be concluded with a Belarusian or a foreign insurance company. The insurance certificate issued by a foreign insurance company should be valid on the territory of Belarus during the period of stay and should cover the insurance cases established by the Law of the Republic of Belarus. Medical insurance is not required for holders of Belarusian transit visas traveling to other countries via Belarus.
Non-compliance with foreigner obligatory insurance regulations could result in refusal to enter the territory of the Republic of Belarus.
● REGISTRATION: During 3 working days after arriving in Belarus a foreign citizen should report the information about the address and duration of his/her stay to the local police station so that a registration stamp be put in his/her passport. If staying in a hotel, this will be arranged by the hotel services (reception bureau).
Please note, that visas cannot be changed, extended or transferred. If your travel plans changed after the visa has been issued you have to reapply for a new visa. The visa decision can not be appealed.
Visa applications are considering within five working days (one week). Express visas (processed within 48 hours) cost special price. If the application is ill prepared or not completed your visa application will not be processed. Visa processing starts only after the Embassy has received all the necessary documents.
According to the Belarusian visa regulation Consul of the Republic of Belarus may refuse the issue of Belarusian visa, shorten number of entries and the period of its validation. In that case no explanations are supposed to be given, the consular fee received does not return.
TRANSIT VISA (type B, period of validity 48 hours) is in question upon presentation of valid Russian or Ukrainian visa or other documents proved the necessity to cross the Belarusian borders on a way to the country of final destination (ticket, itinerary, etc.). Transit visa fees.
Visa support documents for SHORT TERM VISA (type C, period of visa validity 90 days maximum) with single, double or multiple entries:
* for business purposes (without work permit) - formalized letter of support from the Belarusian institution/organization/firm (specimen in Russian).
In general the Consul of the Embassy accepts copy of supporting document from the Belarusian supporting (inviting) party, received by the applicants by fax.
Short-term visa for business trip should be obtained by the foreign journalists, temporally accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. To know more, go to http://www.mfa.gov.by/en/.
To get a short-term visa for business trip (without work permit) with the period of validation 30 days maximum for 1-, 2- or multiple entries for a citizen of EU as well as national of several other countries, such as Australia, Andorra, Argentina, Bahrain, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Chili, Island, Israel, Norway, Swiss Confederation, Republic of Korea, New Zealand, USA, Uruguay, Republic of South Africa, Japan NO VISA SUPPORT DOCUMENTS SHALL BE REQUIRED.
At the same time applicants could be inquired by any documents including Visa support documents presentation in case of any question or variances and inaccuracy found in their visa application.
Short-term visas for business purposes consular fees.
* for private purposes - formalized letter of invitation, issued by local Citizenship and Migration Office of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Belarus, in original (specimen in Russian). In case of need the signature of the inviting party should be notarized at the Consular Office of the Embassy of Belarus.
In several circumstances the Consul of the Embassy could accept other kinds of documents, confirming the purpose of visit.
To get a short-term visa for private purposes (visiting Belarusian relatives, friends, other private matters) with the period of validation 30 days maximum for 1-, 2- or multiple entries for a citizen of EU as well as national of several other countries, such as Australia, Andorra, Argentina, Bahrain, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Chili, Island, Israel, Norway, Swiss Confederation, Republic of Korea, New Zealand, USA, Uruguay, Republic of South Africa, Japan NO VISA SUPPORT DOCUMENTS SHALL BE REQUIRED.
At the same time applicants could be inquired by any documents including Visa support documents presentation in case of any question or variances and inaccuracy found in their visa application.
Short-term visas for private purposes consular fees.
* with work permit - formalized letter of support from the Belarusian institution/organization/firm in original and work permit, issued by the Minsk city or regional (Brest, Gomel, Grodno, Minsk, Mogilev, Vitebsk) Branches of Citizenship and Migration of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Belarus in original or certified by the notary public.
* tourism (for a term of 30 days maximum) - formalized letter of support (specimen in Russian), received from a Belarusian tourist company, confirming the booking of the tourist cervices in Belarus.
Short term visa for tourism could be issued also upon presentation of letter of support from the citizen of the Republic of Belarus and documents proved his/her right to render agro ecotourism cervices in Belarus.
In general the Consul of the Embassy accepts copy of the letter of support, issued by the Belarusian tourist agency, as well as the copy of the letter of support from Belarusian national together with the documents mentioned above received by the applicants by fax.

Visa support documents for LONG TERM VISA (type D, period of visa validity one year for a term of 90 days) with multiple entries:
*for business purposes (without work permit):
1) formalized letter of support from the Belarusian institution/organization/firm (specimen in Russian);
2) extract from the Unified State Register of Legal Persons and Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Belarus on the institution/organization/firm concerned;
3) copy of the agreement (contract, the cooperation agreement) between the Belarusian institution/organization/firm and the foreigner or the foreign organization in which one works, confirming business mutual relationship of the parties, sealed by the stamp of the institution/organization/firm concerned;
4) document, issued by the foreign institution/organization/firm, proved the fact of the particular person employment, formalized by the letterhead of the foreign institution/organization/firm concerned signed by the Head of the foreign institution/organization/firm concerned;
5) other documents proved the presented information, upon the request of the Consul.
Issue of visa to the Heads of the representatives of the foreign enterprise / company / bank in the Republic of Belarus, to the members of their staff as well as to the employees of the particular foreign enterprise / company / bank is considered upon presentation of the formalized letter of support from the Belarusian representative concerned, approved by the Division of Export Support of the Department of Foreign-Economic Activity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.

Visas marked as "Diplomatic visa" or "Service visa"
Visas marked "Diplomatic Visa" or "Service Visa" are issued by the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as by diplomatic missions and consular posts of the Republic of Belarus worldwide. These visas may be issued to persons enjoying diplomatic or consular (and similar) privilege and immunity and who are staying in Belarus for official purposes.
Applications for these visas shall be accompanied by verbal note or letter of request from the relative foreign state establishment with specification of the purpose of entry and program of visit.
